This week, MalLabel Music is stoked to bring you a full EP from a soon to be rising star among the instrumental Bass Music community. Bringing the love from the Pacific North is Vancouver, British Columbia’s, Monad Moon.
This girl has been making some serious waves as her first track on Soundcloud hit 10,000 plays! The track produced in collaboration with Kermode who also drops a fire remix on this album is one of only a few creations she has dropped on the world and every single one of them is absolutely stunning. Her music brings out the subtlety of sounds in a masterful use of space towards a powerful and inspiring wall of sound. With a strong background in Jazz, Choral music and Classical this is to be expected, but the sound design she has honed is going to take this girl far and wide and we are ready to enjoy the ride.
Her first solo EP Opulent Moon is a mesmerizing experience capturing the essence of the natural world through rich orchestral atmospheres, sultry vocals and sonic creations. A truly masterful collection of aural delights from start to finish with a fitting remix on the opening track by the great white northern bear himself. Opening with ‘The Bear and the Owl’ is an expressive homage to forest spirits via a collection of tribal elements and luscious song while Kermode adds some exhilarating energy with a huge Dubstep remix. The title track is a wonderfully glitchy, Downtempo Jazz tune with a passionate finish bringing us to ‘Zoetic’ which brings the emotion of strings up to a vocally arpeggiated and bass driven storm of heart-wide-open dance floor energy. For the fourth year running, Gravitas Music is proud to present the fourth volume of the Virtus In Sonus compilation. The selection of songs spotlights a slice of Gravitas’ massive pool of international talent, including tracks from Mr. Bill, ill-esha, Psymbionic, Of The Trees, Unlimited Gravity, AMB and more. A myriad of electronic genres are represented throughout, with the influences of downtempo, glitch hop, trap, and hybrids thereof. Although the 16 tracks showcase a healthy variety, there is still distinct flow for the duration of the track listing; beginning slow and dreamy, the pace progressively shifts to a more danceable momentum before ending on a somewhat somber tone.
